Bernese Mountain Dogs

We absolutely love our dogs!...we feel Bernese Mountain Dogs are the perfect family and companion dog. Not only are they beautiful with their soft long coats, but they are incredibly loyal, affectionate and the perfect family guardian. As a breed, they have an easy-going calm and loving temperament. They love human attention and companionship… love and protect their family... and are gentle with cats, other dogs, friends, and small children. Berners will follow their family anywhere...on walks, hikes, camping, and car rides. They are eager to be trained and eager to please… just to be close to you. I have heard that most Berners don’t like water, but our dogs love it! We take them on daily hikes through the fields and it usually ends with a good swim in the pond!

Berners are also the perfect farm or ranch dog.... They originally were bred in the Swiss Alps to herd livestock and pull Milk carts. Being slightly larger than a retriever, they are protective of the family, house,  and livestock...and are large enough to keep predators away.

BREEDING

We have carefully selected our breeding dogs for excellent health and longevity. They have excellent bloodlines and have been DNA tested as 100% pure bred Bernese Mountain Dogs. (which their pedigree papers also show). Our dogs have also been OFA tested for hips and elbows... and have had Embark genetic health testing and are 100% free and clear of any genetic markers of disease. We test for the degenerative hip myelopathy genes, Von Willebrand's disease, and other hereditary disease markers.

 

Our puppies are CKC registered, dewormed, vet checked, microchipped, and have their first shots. They are sold with a nonbreeding contract, and a written 18 month health guarantee.
